West Central Minnesota
Farmer to Consumer Directory

About this Directory

This directory lists rural producers from West Central Minnesota who take great care and pride in maintaining the quality of their products. Farmers listed are implementing sustainable or organic farming practices.

Sustainable farming practices include a land and animal stewardship ethic, limited use of chemicals or drugs, and community-minded direction.

This directory is an evolving project of Land Stewardship Project (LSP). We invite you to contact the LSP office with ideas and suggestions, or questions on availability of other farm products. If you know of other farms that raise sustainable products and would like to sell directly to consumers, please contact us:

Land Stewardship (LSP)

LSP founded in 1982, is a private, non-profit membership organization devoted to fostering an ethic of stewardship toward farmland. It is working to develop and promote sustainable communities and a system of agriculture that is environmentally sound, economically viable, family-farm based, and socially just.

CROP Walk

This directory is cultivated with generous contributions from the 15th Annual Chippewa County CROP Walk. Sharing in a hope-filled tomorrow, the TOOLS OF HOPE theme stresses that the smallest, simplest things can make a major difference in daily life and in our communities' future. We hope that tools like this directory, shared with eager hands and minds, will help create local food connections.

Sustainable Farming Association

The Sustainable Farming Association of Western Minnesota is a grassroots, farmer to farmer network rooted in the recognition of the wisdom within ourselves and our communities to find ways of farming that are economically viable and ecologically sound.

Remember that local products are also available at retail food stores. When shopping at your favorite grocery store, be sure to ask for locally and sustainably grown products.

We have become increasingly distanced from the production of our food, and have given up knowledge about what we are eating, in exhange for convenience and low prices. Buying local food gives you the opportunity to meet the people who grow your food, learn how it was grown, and know what kind of effects its production has on your health and the environment.
