The Land Stewardship Project podcast
Ear to the Ground is the Land Stewardship Project’s “podcast”—an audio magazine you can download and listen to on your computer or portable player. Using free software, you can automatically download audio files and import them into many audio players, including iTunes and Windows Media Player. You can even use programs like iTunes to record Ear to the Ground to a CD.

How to hear Ear to the Ground
To sample the Ear to the Ground podcast, see
http://www.digitalpodcast.com/detail-LSP_s_Ear_to_the_Ground-8811.html. Despite the name, you don't need an iPod or iTunes to use podcasting. It is just a term for the downloadable audio plus RSS/XML data describing the audio files. Here's how it works:

• First, you will need to download and install the right software to “subscribe” to our audio. Some software available includes iPodder, Doppler, iPodderX and Primetime Podcast Receiver . There are many others—do an Internet search for “podcast software” or “media aggregator rss” to find them. Many RSS readers that support processing enclosures can be used with this service. Version 4.9 of Apple's iTunes software can subscribe to podcasts without any of the above programs.

• Once you have a program installed, give the program the following feed address: http://landstewardshipproject.org/rss/podcast.php. or just right-click on the icon and copy the link location into your podcast software.

• Now you are an Ear to the Ground subscriber. Your podcast software will automatically check to see when we've uploaded new material, and will download the files and insert them into your media player software. You can also choose to simply place the downloaded files in a folder—a good option if you'd prefer to manage the files yourself.

We’re looking for feedback
Let us know how we are doing with this new communications technology. How is the sound quality of the audio files? Do they download okay? What would you like to see in this service? Do you have story ideas? Send an e-mail to bdevore@landstewardshipproject.org and tell us what you think.
