SAINT PAUL, Minn.— Internationally recognized activist and author Frances Moore Lappé spoke at a special Land Stewardship Project fundraising event on Friday, Nov. 18 in Minneapolis. Her talk will be broadcast on Minnesota Public Radio’s Midday program on Tuesday, Nov. 22, from noon to 1 p.m. In the Twin Cities, the talk can be heard on 91.1 FM. To find out what

Lappé is the author or co-author of 15 books, including the bestseller Diet for a Small Planet, and her latest, Democracy’s Edge: Choosing to Save Our Country by Bringing Democracy to Life (www.democracysedge.org). She is the co-founder of two national organizations that focus on food and the roots of democracy. Lappé
is the fourth American to receive the “Right Livelihood Award,” also known as the “Alternative Nobel.”
During her Nov. 18 presentation, Lappé discussed her new book and her pioneering work on the global issues of food, land and democracy, as well as why there is real hope for progressive change.
