LEWISTON, Minn.–Workshops on agricultural record keeping and farm taxes will be offered at the Land Stewardship Project’s Lewiston office (180 E. Main Street) March 15 and March 28.
On Thursday, March 15, from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., a workshop entitled, "It's Never too Late to Save Money" will introduce the concepts of records, receipts and worksheets to organize your cash income and expenses and prepare you for legitimate farm deductions on your 2007 taxes (Profit or Loss from Farming Worksheet, Schedule F). There is a $10 fee.
A workshop called, "Record Keeping for the Organic Farmer" will take place Wednesday, Mar. 28, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Joyce Ford of Organic Independents will present at this workshop. All crop or livestock producers are encouraged to bring their receipts, field records, seed packets and any other raw data they want to have in a record. We will send you home organized to make better decisions and for organic certification, if that is your goal. There is a $15 fee.
