GRANITE FALLS, Minn.—The Land Stewardship Project (LSP) will celebrate its 25th Anniversary in western Minnesota Sunday, Aug. 19, with a hog roast and special Farm Beginnings® graduation ceremony. The event will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Memorial Park in Granite Falls. LSP will provide the pork, beans and Pride of Main Street ice cream, which will be served at 5:30 p.m. Picnickers are encouraged to bring their own garden vegetables to share. The suggested donation for this event is $10. To RSVP for the meal, contact LSP’s Montevideo office by Aug. 14 at 320-269-2105 or lspwest@landstewardshipproject.org.
This event will feature music, storytelling and a silent auction, as well as farmers’ and artists’ markets. There will also be a special presentation by local actress Kayla Bothun of scenes from Planting in the Dust, a play written by Nancy Paddock during the Land Stewardship Project’s earliest days. Paddock has recently updated this powerful, one-woman performance.
