SAINT PAUL, Minn. — You can support stewardship and Fair Trade this holiday season by buying handmade gifts at the Saint Paul Ten Thousand Villages store on Wednesday, Dec. 16.

Ten Thousand Villages is donating 20 percent of all sales from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. that day to support the Land Stewardship Project’s work. The store is located at 867 Grand Avenue (Victoria Crossing West).

Ten Thousand Villages is a group of Fair Trade retail outlets founded in the 1940s by the Mennonite Central Committee. Its mission is to pay artisans in the developing world fair prices for their work. More information on the Saint Paul outlet is available by visiting the store’s website or calling 651-225-1043. For details on the Nov. 18 shopping night, click here. More information is also available by contacting LSP's Mike McMahon at 612-722-6377 or mcmahon@landstewardshipproject.org.

The Land Stewardship Project is a Minnesota based grassroots organization dedicated to building a food and farming system that is environmentally, economically and socially just. Our members are farmers, rural people and others who work together to help new farmers get started, build local and regional food systems, and enact policies that advance environmental stewardship and family farm agriculture.

The Land Stewardship Project has offices in the Minnesota communities of South Minneapolis, Lewiston and Montevideo.
