CONTACT: Sarah Claassen, LSP, 612-722-6377; sarahc@landstewardshipproject.org

4/14/11
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — An Earth Day benefit for the Land Stewardship Project (LSP) will be held Friday, April 22, at the Red Stag Supperclub in Minneapolis (509 1st Avenue NE). For more information, contact LSP’s Sarah Claassen at 612-722-6377 or sarahc@landstewardshipproject.org.

All proceeds from meals served between 8 a.m. and noon — and a portion of proceeds from the rest of the day — will be donated by the Red Stag (www.redstagsupperclub.com) to LSP to support its work to connect people and the land through beginning farmer training, family farm policy organizing and healthy community food systems development in rural and urban Minnesota.

LSP staff will give short updates on the organization’s work at 8 a.m., 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., and will be present throughout the day with information about LSP.

Red Stag Supperclub opened on Nov. 19, 2007, as the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) registered restaurant project in Minnesota. The Red Stag strives to serve local and organic foods as much as possible.

Reservations for Earth Day meals are encouraged but not required. To make a reservation, call the Red Stag at 612-767-7766.

The Land Stewardship Project, founded in 1982, is a nonprofit, Minnesota-based membership organization that works for sustainable agriculture, family farms and social and economic justice. More information is available at www.landstewardshipproject.org.
