CSA Farmers: LSP Directory Sign Up Deadline is Jan. 24, 2012

CONTACT: Brian DeVore, 612-722-6377

12/15/11
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — If you are a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farmer in Minnesota or western Wisconsin, it’s time to sign-up for the Land Stewardship Project’s 2012 CSA Directory. The deadline for submitting farm descriptions is Tuesday, Jan. 24. Payments must be received by Wednesday, Feb. 1.

For 15 years, the Land Stewardship Project (LSP) has published a directory of Community Supported Agriculture farms as a service to CSA farmers and eaters who want to be part of building a food and farming system that cares for people and the land.

In February, LSP will be producing the 2012 Minnesota-Western Wisconsin CSA Farm Directory. As it did in 2011, the 2012 Directory will list farms that deliver to communities throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin, as well as the Twin Cities.

LSP distributes copies of the directory for free upon request, and it is available online at www.landstewardshipproject.org/csa.html.

If you would like to list your farm in this year’s directory, please note
the following:

  • You must deliver to locations in the Twin Cities, outstate Minnesota or western Wisconsin.
  • LSP will be breaking the Directory up into two sections based on where farms make their deliveries. Please specify in your listing whether you deliver to the Twin Cities Metro area. If you do not deliver to the Twin Cities, your farm will be listed in the Outstate Minnesota & Western Wisconsin section.
  • The listing fee is $22 for members of the Land Stewardship Project.
  • The listing fee is $37 if you are not a member of the Land Stewardship Project.
  • If this is a new listing, e-mail, fax or mail a 250-word maximum description of your farm, plus any other details potential members might be interested in knowing, i.e. products, drop-site locations and day-of-the-week of deliveries. NOTE: LSP does not list share prices.
  • If you are certified organic or are certified through some other third-party process, we encourage you to include that information in your description. Please note that we cannot include the word “organic” in farm descriptions unless the operation is officially certified organic by a third party.

Where to Send the Description & Payment Information:
Make your check payable to the Land Stewardship Project. Please attach a note or indicate on the memo line of the check that it is for the 2012 CSA Directory.
